Schmorl's nodes
The Schmorl's nodes are small depressions on the surface of the vertebral bodies, the result of pressures exerted by the cartilage disc, which causes the herniation and the displacement of the intervertebral disc´s tissue to the adjacent vertebral bodies. The Schmorl's nodes are usually associated with Scheuermann's disease which refers to a deformity on the thoracic or lumbar spine as a result of osteochondrosis of the secondary ossification centers of the plateaus of the vertebral bodies. The main symptoms are pain and postural changes caused by space narrowing.

Treatment
To ease the pain, treatment by physical therapy can be effective, with a strengthening of the muscles of the spine.
